Physically, about 20. White hair, red eyes. Short (although the shoes add a few inches), physically strong. Has the ears and tail of a white wolf.
[OVERVIEW]
A white wolf tengu lookout. Like many of her race, she's tasked with patrolling Youkai Mountain in search of intruders. Upon finding one, her job is to try and drive them off with a fierce and overpowering attack - if that doesn't do the job, she is then to withdraw and report to the other tengu for reinforcements.
In Mountain of Faith, Momiji follows this plan to the letter when encountering Reimu/Marisa on the mountain. Despite being the strongest of the white wolf tengu, she was defeated easily, and had to bring Aya over to stop the humans. This also didn't work, but everything worked out in the end.
Momiji takes her work very seriously. She never takes shortcuts and takes a lot of pride in her work, even if she thinks the work is frivolous. Sometimes she's assigned as a bodyguard to a more powerful tengu, and complains off the record that in such positions there's no point to her being there as a bodyguard - instead, she's being used as an accessory for the daitengu to show off that they're important enough to need a bodyguard. Still, even in such pointless positions, she strives for excellence, because she insists that doing a good job is valuable for its own merits.

[ABILITIES]
- Danmaku: The traditional magical combat art of Gensokyo. Magical power is gathered into discrete 'bullets', which are fired en masse in complex artistic patterns. Rather than directly clashing power or blocking attacks, fighters fly through the sky and dodge between the gaps in the patterns. Momiji is the strongest of the white wolf lookouts, but she's well below much of the main Touhou cast in power. A demonstration of Momiji attacking can be seen here.
- Flight: All youkai can fly. It's not a big deal.
- Keen Senses: Momiji's unique ability is described as the ability to see a thousand li. This isn't literal, but her ability to see, hear, and smell are all superhuman in precision and range.
- Physical Combat: Momiji carries a big sword and a shield, and she knows how to use them. She's much stronger than a human with her build would be, but since most combat in Gensokyo is ranged combat using magic, it's not very useful.
